.IT Domains

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT ccTLD is very popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building inventive and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to share it with associates and fellows. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is linked to the technology sector given that IT is an abbreviation, which is accepted around the globe.

Having in mind that dot IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that handles this top-level extension, such a domain can be acquired through a third-party domain registration provider, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can acquire a dot IT domain for a period of 1 year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. The only limitation is that the person booking such a domain should be situated in a member state of the European Union.

As there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical regions of any kind are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such third-level domains, though, because they can be registered only by locals.
