"> '); CNAME Records
There are various ways to point a domain name to a different domain or subdomain and one of them is by setting up a CNAME record. In case you own a domain and you've created a website through some on-line service that provides you with a service subdomain, you can easily link the two by setting up a CNAME record for your-domain.com that points to subdomain.provider.com. What you'll achieve as a result is that www.your-domain.com is going to be in the browser address bar while it opens the already mentioned website from the servers of the third-party provider. It is important to know that if you create a CNAME record, any other records your domain name may have will stop functioning, so you can't have both a CNAME record pointing to one provider and working e-mail address with another. The CNAME record is always an alpha string, not a number, and sometimes further configuration may be necessary with the other company.

CNAME Records in Shared Web Hosting

Creating a CNAME record with our shared web hosting is extremely simple. Our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel includes a section committed to the DNS records of your domain addresses, so you can set up a new CNAME record for any domain or subdomain hosted within your account in just a few basic steps. You will find a video tutorial in the same section in which you can see the process first-hand. This feature offers you a number of options - if you set up a company site on our end, for example, the workers can use their emails with the company domain name, not with the address of our mail server. If you wish to set up a site through a different provider which offers online web design services, you can easily redirect a domain address hosted here and use it for the site. Last, but not least, if you have a web-based store and you have a billing system for http://your-domain.com and/or an SSL certificate, you can set up a CNAME record for the www subdomain and direct it to the main domain name, so all your customers are going to be forwarded to a secure URL.

CNAME Records in Semi-dedicated Servers

You are going to be able to set up, edit and delete CNAME records really easy with all of our semi-dedicated server plans. The accounts are controlled from the custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel, and in one of its sections you'll see all records for every domain name or subdomain which you have added in your account. To set up a new record, you simply have to select the hostname which will be forwarded (domain/subdomain), input where it will be forwarded to, select the record type, which will be CNAME in this case, and you're going to be ready. In case you haven't used a web hosting service before, our CP is quite intuitive to use, so you'll not have any difficulties. We also have a short video and a detailed help article regarding how to set up a CNAME record, both of which are available in the exact same section of Hepsia. With this feature, you could easily use a domain name hosted on our cutting edge cloud hosting platform for an Internet site created someplace else, set up a custom webmail login address with any of your domains, and more.
