"> '); Custom Error Pages
Whenever a page on your website does not load, an error message shall be displayed to the visitor. Since there are different errors, there are different pages that will appear, but what is typical for all of them is that they're generic and in all probability shall have absolutely nothing that resembles the design of your site, which may be irritating for any visitor. That is the primary reason why web hosting service providers have introduced a function referred to as Custom Error Pages. For a wide variety of different errors, site visitors will see your custom made content, which may be informative or witty, in accordance with your preference, and which shall match the layout of your Internet site, so the pages won't appear as if they are not part of your site at all. You can use this option for many errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).

Custom Error Pages in Shared Web Hosting

When you purchase a shared web hosting from our company, you'll be able to set custom error pages for your sites fast and easy, since this function is a part of all our packages. As soon as you've created the files and uploaded them to your hosting account, you should check out the Hosted Domains section of your Hepsia Control Panel and click on the Edit button for the specific domain or subdomain. In the pop-up which will be displayed, you will see drop-down options menus for all four sorts of errors and for each one of them you may choose an Apache default page, a generic page from our system or a personalized page. In case you select the 3rd option, you should just enter the URL to the file which you have uploaded and save the change. One other way to set custom error pages is to create an .htaccess file in the domain or subdomain folder and to include a couple of lines of code in it. In case you don't have prior experience or if you're just unsure how to do this, you may simply copy/paste the code from our Knowledge Base article on that subject.

Custom Error Pages in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you host your Internet sites in a semi-dedicated server account with us, you may set personalized error pages for any of them with ease using our in-house built Hepsia hosting CP. With just a couple of mouse clicks in the Hosted Domains section, you'll be able to edit the default setting from a system page to a tailor-made one for each of the four error types. All you must do is supply a link to each file you have uploaded before that and then save the change. If necessary, you will be able to revert this change whenever you want and in exactly the same way. If you prefer, you may use an .htaccess file too. It must be created/uploaded within the domain or subdomain folder related to the internet site whose error pages you would want to modify and the content for this kind of file can be found in our Help article for this matter.
