"> '); IP Blocking
In case you notice a significant increase in the traffic to your Internet site and in case after you check the visitor statistics it turns out that it comes from countries across the world or from other servers, your website is most likely being attacked by an automatic bot. Such programs go through random websites trying to log in to their administrator area using a brute-force attack or to leave spam comments under every article where such an option is made available. Unfortunately, that's something relatively frequent in recent times, but if you know the IP addresses from which the attacks come, you may block them, so the bots will not be able to access your Internet site in any way. Of course, you'll be able to block IPs even if you allow only people from particular countries to access your website.

IP Blocking in Shared Web Hosting

If you get a shared web hosting from us, you will be able to see detailed traffic stats for all of your Internet sites and if you notice that a lot of the visits to each of them aren't real, you may block the IP addresses which have generated the most traffic through our IP Blocking tool. The interface is extremely simple - choose the needed domain or subdomain from a drop-down list, then type in the IP address you want to block and save the change. All of the addresses that you've blacklisted shall appear in the very same section of the CP, allowing you to always remove any one of them and enable it to access your Internet site again. You can block entire IP ranges via the tool too - you simply need to leave 1 or 2 octets from the address blank. For instance, entering 1.2.3. will block all 254 IPs from 1.2.3.1 to 1.2.3.255.

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Servers

The Hepsia hosting CP, included with our semi-dedicated servers, will allow you to solve the challenge with unwanted traffic very quickly and easily. It comes with an IP blocking tool in which you can add IP addresses with just several clicks. All domains and subdomains which you have within the account shall be listed in a drop-down menu, so you only have to select the one you need and then type in the IP address which needs to be blocked. If you wish to block an entire range, a C-class network for instance, you just have to input the first 3 octets of the IP and leave the last one blank. This shall block all 254 addresses, so you will not have to input them manually. Since all the IPs which you add in this section shall be listed, you may very easily unblock any one of them by clicking the Delete button associated with the given IP.
